Safety Recalls
CHEVROLET Blazer (2000-02) General Motors is recalling 5,862 SUVs because the multifunction switch could develop an open circuit condition, which would cause the brake lights and rear hazard lamps to stop working. Dealers will replace the hazard switch carrier. NHTSA Campaign No. 08V231000 Edit | Delete
FORD F-150 (2005-06) More than 600,000 vehicles equipped with 5.4-liter, 3-valve engines are being recalled because the brake booster vacuum supply hose may come loose from the intake manifold. If this happens, the drive could lose power assist for the brakes. (Conventional, non-power braking would be available, but it would require significant effort from the driver.) The resolution is to replace the rubber hose on the brake booster vacuum supply tube assembly. NHTSA Campaign No. 08V-057 Edit | Delete
GMC Jimmy (2000-01) General Motors is recalling 5,862 SUVs because the multifunction switch could develop an open circuit condition, which would cause the brake lights and rear hazard lamps to stop working. Dealers will replace the hazard switch carrier. NHTSA Campaign No. 08V231000 Edit | Delete
JEEP Commander (2006) Chrysler is recalling 24,461 vehicles equipped with 4.7-liter, V8 engines because that powertrain control module (PCM) was programmed with software that could allow the engine to stall in certain operating conditions. Dealers will reprogram the computer for owners of affected vehicles. NHTSA Campaign No. 08V203000 Edit | Delete
LINCOLN Mark LT (2005-06) More than 600,000 vehicles equipped with 5.4-liter, 3-valve engines are being recalled because the brake booster vacuum supply hose may come loose from the intake manifold. If this happens, the drive could lose power assist for the brakes. (Conventional, non-power braking would be available, but it would require significant effort from the driver.) The resolution is to replace the rubber hose on the brake booster vacuum supply tube assembly. NHTSA Campaign No. 08V208000 Edit | Delete
OLDSMOBILE Bravada (2000) General Motors is recalling 5,862 SUVs because the multifunction switch could develop an open circuit condition, which would cause the brake lights and rear hazard lamps to stop working. Dealers will replace the hazard switch carrier. NHTSA Campaign No. 08V231000 Edit | Delete
SATURN Vue (2008) A handful of vehicle equipped with a 6T70 6-speed automatic transmission are being recalled because of a problem with the transmission case. The side bore that holds the parking pawl pivot pin may have a casting porosity. When coupled with normal stresses, this could lead to failure and the inability to secure the vehicle in a "park" position. Dealers will replaced affected transmissions for no charge. NHTSA Campaign No. 08V200000 Edit | Delete
TOYOTA Highlander (2008) Highlander Hybrid (2008) More than 90,000 vehicles equipped with a third row seat are being recalled because of failure to conform to federal safety standards for occupants in the event of an accident. The passenger seats in the vehicles have seat belt assemblies that convert the retractor from an emergency locking retractor to an automatic locking retractor. The latter enables a child restraint system to be tightly secured. However, in certain situations, the automatic locking mode on the third row seats does not function properly. This could affect the stability of a child safety restraint. The solution is to install a redesign seatbelt, which the dealer will do at no charge. NHTSA Campaign No. 08V181000 Edit | Delete
VOLVO S80 (2008) XC90 (2008) A small number of vehicles equipped with V8 engines are being recalled because the engine mount may be secured with incorrect bolts. The aluminum bracket for the engine mount could break due to a lack of adequate clamping force, which could cause the engine to come in contact with the sub-frame and increase the risk of an accident. Dealers will inspect the engine mount bolts and will replace those that do not meet specification. NHTSA Campaign No. 08V206000 Edit | Delete |
