"My wife brought in our 2003 Volkswagen Passat wagon for an oil change, 20,000-mile check and to check a brake warning light. It turned out that the front and rear rotors and pads were worn below specs. This car only has 23,000 miles and seemed way too early to be replacing rotors and pads. In addition, the pads and rotors on the rear were replaced just about a year ago at the dealer.

"Jerry explained to my wife that VW uses softer pads, and they wear out faster. I argued that to replace rear rotors/pads twice within 1 year (10,000 miles) seems excessive. He agreed and volunteered to call VW and explain to them it was not acceptable and that the brakes should be covered under warranty. VW agreed to cover it, and he even scheduled an appointment for us for tomorrow, made sure the work would be covered for three years and even reserved a loaner car for us.

"My two children and I were lucky participants in your automotive boot camp. I just wanted to thank you all for the wonderful, informative morning. I really never had to worry too much about know about the car because my husband always took care of it. It was an after hours call on a Saturday, but the phone prompts directed me clearly and concisely. Soon I was talking to Bob at H&H Towing, and before long (less than 30 minutes), he was there. He reminded me about the courtesy car and told me to call C&M and leave a page for Mike. I did just that, and Mike called back in less than 5 minutes with instructions on what I needed to do to get the loaner car that very day—even though you were closed.

"I brought in my Land Rover Discover several months ago with what appeared to be brake problems. After leaving the car and having the rear brakes replaced, I picked up the car. About a month later, the car still did no feel right stopping so I brought it back in and your staff checked it over and made some adjustments.

"Well, just about a month ago, I felt a strange senstation as the car was stopping, and I called C&M. Your service manager took my call, and when I came in, he had me ride with the service technician and describe the problems, which seemed to be much like the problems I had back in October. After several days of inspecting the car and my frequents calls to find out what could be wrong, Jim called and said the car was ready.

"To my satisfaction, the car rode perfectly and that is saying something about a car with 150,000+ miles on it. But even better was the fact that Jim took care of the entire issue with no charge to me. He felt the issue, since it was brake related, should not have come back this soon.
