The importance of keeping your cool

With today's engines running at more than 200 degrees Fahrenheit, your cooling system must operate almost flawlessly to protect the engine from extreme temperatures that can cause a catastrophic meltdown.

If coolant pools beneath your vehicle or the temperature gauge shoots up to the red zone, you need to seek help immediately. From simple thermostats to complex head gasket failures, rely on us to keep your motor runnin'. If these are your symptoms, we can help:

  • Coolant is leaking or the coolant in the radiator is too low.
  • The coolant is dirty and should be flushed. (Clean coolant will be a translucent green, yellow, red or even blue. Dirty coolant is a muddy brownish color, which sometimes becomes thick and sludgy or white and crusty.)
  • The hoses are dried, cracked or leaking.
  • The "Low Coolant" light is on.
  • The engine is running hot or overheating.
  • The temperature gauge is erratic.
  • There is steam coming from under the hood.
  • The electric cooling fan doesn't seem to work properly.
  • The water pump and timing belt need to be replaced for maintenance reasons.

As always, we'll listen carefully as you explain your car's symptoms. And then one of our expert technicians will carefully evaluate and test all of the cooling system components to determine the cause of your concern.

We'll then explain the proper course of action in complete details so you clearly understand what should be done and why.
